From our unique setting on the shores of Barton Broad we offer
a range of photography holidays and workshops for all levels of
experience. North Norfolk is a photographers paradise from the
timeless beauty of The Broads to the stunning coastline with its
hidden creaks and idyllic beaches and of course the windmills.
Join us for a one day workshop or have a Photography holiday in
our 4 star self catering cottage and we will guide you to the best
locations backed up with photographic tuition tailored to your
level of experience.

About Us.
We are Alan and Carolyn Davidson and have run a very successful commercial photography studio in Cambridge for 23 years and for the last 11 years we have been welcoming visitors to our 4 star holiday cottage in the grounds of our house and studio in Norfolk. I have been a Professional photographer for over 30 years and have been obsessed by photography since processing my first film aged 12. On a visit to Scotland in 2007 we came across a group of photographers on a workshop not one of them had visited Norfolk, so during the journey home we decided to offer workshops based at the cottage. The unique combination of a self catering cottage complete with digital darkroom and workshops have proved very popular, so now we are also offering non residential workshops.

Non Residential Workshops.
One Day, one to one Workshops.
These workshops are available throughout the year and start at our studio on Barton Broad. Prior to the day we will discuss your level of experience and what you would like to achieve from the workshop. The locations we visit will vary as the seasons change. A typical day could start at dawn with a boat trip on Barton Broad and the river Ant, then back to the studio for a late breakfast and a look at our shots using Photoshop and Lightroom we would then travel to a second location before returning to the studio for a final session on the computers. We can of course spend the entire workshop on location anywhere in North Norfolk or the Broads the day will be structured to the individual. Throughout the day we will look at all aspects of digital photography techniques and composition, with the tuition tailored to suit you. These workshops are designed to be as flexible as possible so that you can gain the most from a days individual tuition.Price £195.00 including transport to locations and refreshments throughout the day

Photography Holidays.
Book a Photography Holiday or Short Break at our 4 star self catering cottage and it comes with a few extras so you can really indulge your hobby.There is a 24" iMac, digitizing tablet, Photoshop, Lightroom, a card reader, a set of ND Grad filters, a library of photography books and you get two half day workshops.

As with all our workshops the tuition is tailored to suit you. Our house and studio is next door so as well as the workshop days we are on hand to look at photographs you have taken and advise on locations.
These holidays are suitable for all of levels of experience, we can even hire you a digital SLR if you are thinking of moving up from a point and shoot. For the seasoned photographer the cottage is a great base from which you can explore this wonderful county and its diverse landscape. Beginners DSLR Course (One to One).
These are based at our Studio and are aimed at those new to Digital SLR photography, the course lasts 4 hours. We use our studio and computers to help you get a better understanding of your camera and then practice techniques photographing around our stunning location on the edge of Barton Broad.
For the price of a large group based course you get one to one tuition with a working professional photographer with over 30 years experience.

As with all our workshops the tuition will be tailored to your experience.
If you do not already own a DSLR we can supply one for you to use, this course is a good way to try out a DSLR if you are thinking of moving up from a point and shoot.
(Currently we have a Canon 450D or Nikon D5000 for use during the workshop)

Photography Holidays with the Family (7 Nights).
Cottage sleeps 4 (1 Twin, 1 Double).Now your family or friends can enjoy a holiday in our 4 Star cottage while you indulge your hobby. While the family enjoy their holiday we take you on location for 3 photography workshops during the week, each session lasting approximately 2 hours so there is still plenty of time with the family.
As with all our workshops they are tailored to your experience, we can visit the coast or perhaps you would enjoy a dawn or dusk trip on our boat and of course we can shoot windmills.
We are happy to customise this holiday to suit your requirements.

Three Day Breaks.
Join us for a 3 day Autumn or Winter break and it includes 2 full day workshops. Norfolk is a magical place to photograph during this time of year with the shorter days we can shoot from dawn to dusk, the lower sun picks out the drama of this diverse landscape. The break starts on Saturday the workshops are on the Sunday and Monday and you leave by lunchtime on the Tuesday. The workshops will be tailored to your experience and will include dawn on the Broads and Sunset on the North Norfolk coast. As with all our holidays you will be based in our 4 star self catering cottage complete with the digital darkroom. If you are new to digital SLR photography we can hire a camera system for use during your stay. We transport you to all the locations and refreshments are supplied throughout the day.
